Said to be the same Abraham Landers who signed the marriage bond ofGeorge S. Landers and Rebecca Wade in 1803.
On 30 May 1808, signed his name "Abraham Landis" while selling a slavegirl to Abraham Lawrence.
Some have made the mistake of recording that this is the Abraham whomarried Susannah Gooch 16 Dec 1816; William Thomasson, bondsman; StephenSneed, witness.

Since his father's will lists the sons as"William, John, Henry and George", he was probably born between Williamand Henry (between 1764 and 1778). There was another John, son of Josephand Sarah, born in 1785.

Roger Rice Landers found him in the 1850 census, roll 631, page 142,family 104, between sons-in-law William Tingen and William Dean. It wasnoted that John could not read or write, and the name was spelled"Landis".
He was also noted in the Granville County, NC Will Book 22, page 717,proven in February 1868 Court. Will dated 19 July 1855 leaving allpossessions to his wife Elizabeth Malone Landers and after her death tochildren Joseph Clark Landers, etc.
