Both Nancy's father and mother wereborn in Granville, North Carolina and died in Oklahoma. Her grandmother Nancy O'Briant had diedand her grandfather George Landers had remarried to Jane Browning, awoman 30 years his junior, and were living in Izard County, Arkansas. By1861, Nancy and her husband would move to Izard County with their twochildren. By the time they arrived her grandfather George was dead. The place of birth of Nancy's children can give us some idea of herlife. Her first two children, James and William, were born in ChristianCounty, Missouri. Mary, her daughter, was born in Lunenburg, Arkansaswhere they had moved by 1861. Her next son John was born in 1864 back inChristian County, Missouri, where she may have gone to have help with thechild or was just visiting with her sister. Laura, her daughter, wasborn in 1871 in Oklahoma where Nancy's mother Rebecca was living. We canalso assume that Nancy was visiting with her mother at that time.
