Henry married Anna Landers daughter of John Landess and Susannah Harmon. Anna was born 1, 2 in 1787 in North Carolina.

According to Martha Gibson Lee, an old paper in the Western ReserveHistorical Society lists Henry's wife as Ann Landis daughter of HenryLandis. Who this Henry was I do not know. I believe that this paper had alot of errors, and this is most likely one of them. It lists Christopher(married to Phoebe Lee), Henry's father as being born 1759 and as the sonof Felix Jr. instead of Henry.

In early land deeds John was named Landers, but later appeared as Landis.Stacie Morr has sent a copy of a note from Kathryn Hopkins who copied thename John Landis and the same birth and death dates from a tombstone inLandis Cemetery, Bedford County, TN. This cemetery is located about 1mile s.e. of Shofner Lutheran Church on Thompson Creek.

John married 1 Mary Lowe on 18 Nov 1820. Mary was born 2 on 14 Oct 1796. She died 3 on 14 Dec 1868.

They had the following children:

  128 F ii Phoebe Angeline Landis was born 1 on 27 Jun 1830. She died 2 on 11 Oct 1839. She was buried 3 in Landis Cemetery, Bedford County, TN.

On her tombstone Phoebe is listed as the third daughter of J. and M.Landis, so there are two that we have no record of.
  129 M iii Robert Wilson Landis was born 1 on 13 Dec 1831. He died 2 on 25 Oct 1839. He was buried 3 in Landis Cemetery, Bedford County, TN.

49. Abel Landers (Christopher , Henry , Christopher ) was born 1 in 1795. He died 2 in 1870.

Moved to Newton County, MO about 1839 and became prominent in politics.
His brothers-in-law, the Shipmans and the Nutts, moved to about the samearea at about the same time.
He moved to Hood County, TX in 1855 and settled on the Brazos at LandersCrossing.

Abel married Sally Ann Shipman. Sally was born 1 in 1803. She died 2 in 1860.

A handwritten chart said to have been prepared by Eva Grace (Landers)Bobo in 1902 says that this Henry was born 22 Jul 1818, married LucindaG. Hix in 1832, moved to Bedford County in 1851, and had a child H. D.born in 1861. No other sources list Lucinda or H. D.

Henry married 1 (1) Sarah Brandon daughter of Jarrett Brandon on 7 Jan 1832 in Tennessee.

From Jean Heaps: There was a world-wide cholera epidemic in 1848-49. Idon't know that is what killed Sarah Brandon Landis, but she and five oftheir children died in the winter of 1848-49. The three remainingchildren were John W., Richard W. and Mary Ann.
