92. Robert L. Landis (Levi Landers , John Landess , Christopher ) was born 1 in 1822. He died 2 in 1875.

Per Jean Heaps: Robert went off to war but came back because his familywas starving, and so was charged with desertion. His oldest son JamesHenry went back in Robert's place and the charges were dropped.

Robert married 1 (1) Delilah Ann Beavers on 12 Nov 1840 in Lawrence County, AL. Delilah died 2 in Sep 1859.

They had the following children:

  194 M ii James Henry Landis was born 1 in 1844.
  195 M iii John Landis was born 1 in 1847.

This is probably the John C. Landis (1845 - 19__) buried in LandisCemetery, Bedford County, TN.

  197 M v Andrew Landis was born 1 in Sep 1859.

Robert married 1 (2) Jane Beavers on 5 Aug 1864 in Lawrence County, AL.

Robert married 1 (3) Malisa Jane Patrick on 28 Oct 1866 in Lawrence County, AL.

93. Hannah Landers (Levi Landers , John Landess , Christopher ) was born 1 in 1825.

Per Jean Heaps: named Hannah in the 1850 census, Anna in 1860 andSusannah in 1880; Annie on her marriage license.

Hannah married 2 Alfonzo L. Scoggin 1 on 4 Oct 1862.

They had the following children:

103. William Anderson Berryman (Mary Landess , John Landess , Christopher ) was born 1 on 16 Dec 1828. He died 2 on 30 Jan 1912 in Morgan County, IL.

Farmer and stock raiser, Sec. 33, T. 13, R. 9, P.O. Scottville, MacoupinCo., Ill., was born in Barren Co., Ky., Dec. 16, 1828; working for hisfather on a tobacco plantation, where they would produce as much astwelve hhds. of tobacco, averaging 2,200 lbs. In one season. Mr.Berryman did not receive any education, and at the age of twenty-twoyears he left home and started alone for the lead mines of Galena, Ill.,but on account of lameness in his horse he stopped in Morgan Co. andengaged in driving stock to St. Louis, until the following spring, whenhe hired to work for Jacob Van Note on a farm at fifteen dollars permonth. Mr. Berryman received one hundred and ten dollars in gold for aone hundred dollar bill, at Waverly, caused by St. Louis brokers tryingto break the Missouri State Bank. In June, 1853, he married Mrs. HannahNall, relict of Russell Nall; five children - three still living: LeviO., Sarah Isabel, and Henry. Mr. Berryman owns 300 acres of land, having250 acres in cultivation. His farm is one of the finest, if not thefinest in Hart's Prairie, which takes its name from Solomon Hart, whosettled there more than fifty years ago. [History of Morgan County,Illinois, 1878]
